Weight Watchers Original Multigrain Crisps Review

Amy Brantley
As many of my readers know, I'm on the Weight Watchers PointsPlus Plan and I love it. With that being said, I have noticed that many of my favorite snacks have a higher PointsPlus value than I would like. While the PointsPlus Plan allows me to eat what I want, I do like to eat as much food as possible. This means looking for snacks that have a lower PointsPlus value. After my best friend, who is also on the plan, ordered some snacks from the Weight Watchers site, I decided to do the same. One of the snacks I ordered were the Original Multigrain Crisps. I thought they would be a good alternative to potato chips at lunch. Plus they had a lower PointsPlus value than potato chips. Would the lower value affect the taste? Not a chance.

When I first bit into the Original Multigrain Crisps I was reminded of SunChips. As I continued chewing though, the snack reminded more of a thin, multigrain cracker. The flavor was slightly nutty and slightly sweet and the crisp wasn't overly salty. The more I had, the more I loved this snack. It was the perfect alternative to the potato chips or cheese crackers I normally have at lunch.

A package of Original Multigrain Crisps from Weight Watchers costs around $4.50. The package contains 6 portion sized bags so that's $0.75 a bag. It is a lot more expensive than buying potato chips, but my health and weight is important to me. Speaking of health, I was happy to find out that these snacks do not contain HFCS, which is a huge plus.

A portion of this snack has 100 calories, 1.5 grams of fat, 0 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans-fat, 0mg of cholesterol, 120mg of sodium, 21 grams of carbohydrates, 2 grams of fiber, 3 grams of sugar, 2 grams of protein, 4% of your daily calcium, 4% of your daily iron and a PointsPlus value of 3.

I would have to give this snack 4 out of 5 stars. I'm knocking off a star because these are a lot more expensive than buying potato chips or cheese crackers. However, if you're willing to spend the money to lose weight, like I am, I highly recommend these. Also, if you're willing to grab a variety pack of snacks from the site, you'll save even more.
