Weird but True

As I was looking through my son's National Geographic for Kids magazine, I thought I would write about some outrageous facts. I found that these facts interesting. They are useless information but they are interesting none-the-less.

1. The Earth weighs about 6.6 billion trillion (6,600,000,000,000,000,000,000) tons. WOW! That is a lot of tons.

2. Donuts did not have holes until the 1800's.

3. 6009 is the next year that will look the same right side up and upside down; the last year was 1961. I tried this three or four times and it is actually true. Try it. This is amazing!

4. Much of the dust in your home comes from your family's dead skin cells. Here is some science for you.

5. The pound symbol on phones is also called an octothorpe. (#).

6. Elephants walk on their tiptoes.

7. A male fox is often called a Reynard, and a female fox is called a Vixen.

8. Bald eagles live in every U.S. state except for Hawaii.

9. The bombardier beetle can shoot hot poison from its rear end 500 times a second.

10. Your eyeballs are an extension of your brain.

11. Any month that begins on a Sunday will have Friday the 13th in it. That is really interesting.

12. The opposite side of a die always equals seven (7).

These are the interesting facts that was in my son's National Geographic for Kids magazine. As I have said, I found these facts amazing. Yes, they are weird but it is just a bit of trivia. I hope you find these facts just as amazing as I have.
