Most of us look forward to the beginning of May. May signals the end of cold weather, end of April showers, and welcoming May flowers. Several well known holidays occur in the merry month of May. We are all aware of May Day, Cinco de Mayo, Mother's Day. These are very popular and well known holidays that are celebrated by people across the country and perhaps the world. And did you know that there are many strange and unusual holidays and observances that are celebrated in the month of May? These days might be just a bit obscure and cause a puzzled look on many faces but they are observances with many followers. Actually, you might find that there are a dozen unusual observances on each day in May. In this article we focus on the most obscure or wacky observances.
