Spaniards are attacked from an irate Aztec mob after they looted Tenochtitlan. They were so bogged down with their armor, and not to mention their newly acquired treasure, that they were easily overtaken by the mob. Almost half of Cortes' men lost their lives in the ensuing battle, according to Answers.Com.

A blast, known as an airburst, exploded over Podkamennaya Tunguska at 7:30 am. It flattened trees for thousands of square miles. It is now thought to have been caused by either an asteroid or perhaps a comet impact, according to msnbc.
June 30th, 1934
SS troops in and around Germany arrest hundreds of loyal SA stormtroopers after being ordered to do so by Hitler. They were charged with treason, and the group was wiped out. In a Bavarian resort, the troops broke up a group of men engaged in homosexual activity, where they were all taken into custody. Found in bed with a teenaged boy was Lieutenant Edmund Heines, who was shot to death upon discovery. The event is now called The Night of the Long Knives, according to the History Place.
June 30th, 1999
Abner Stoltzfus and Abner Stoltzfus, two members of the Old Order Amish, were arrested for drug related activities. They were sentenced to serve a year in prison after buying cocaine from a Philadelphia motorcycle gang, and selling it amongst other Amish folk. This happened in Lancaster County, PA, according to the Associated Press.
