Huge Mount Rushmore Cheese carving

Want to see Mount Rushmore? Check out George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt and Abe Lincoln carved into a 700-pound block of Land O' Lakes Cheddar cheese, according to the Associated Press.

In Little Chute, Wisconsin, Troy Landwehr used his own carving tools to carve out a replica of mount Rushmore from the huge block of cheese. Cheez-It snack crackers sponsored Landwehr, who is a cheese carver and winemaker, to make the "work of art" out of cheese.

The sculpture is on its way, with it's maker, to New York City. Landwehr will be appearing on television and the sculpture will be put on display in Times Square.

The carving will then go on tour while its maker goes back home to Little Chute.

After its tour, the carving will go to Oklahoma, and be cut into cubes as a snack. Landwehr says he doesn't mind that.

"In the end, they'll love eating good Wisconsin cheddar down south," he said.

Deer hit twice by couple in different cars

In Wisconsin, a couple that were on their way home yet driving separately each hit the same deer, according to Winona County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Ron Ganrude and the Associated Press.

Bill MacAskill's Acura was hit by the deer on it's left side when the animal jumped out of a ditch onto a road near Nodine. "The deer was moving pretty fast," he said. The deer is said to have caused $3,000 worth of damages to both the front and rear doors.

MacAskill's wife, Jean, 52 years old, was behing her husband on her Honda motorcycle. When she hit the brakes hard to avoid hitting the wounded deer, she lost control of the bike.

Bill MacAskill, 53 years old, states that when he looked into his rearview mirror he watched his wife sliding on the highway. The gas tank and some trim on the bike were among some of the damages. She suffered only minor injuries. Her husband says it was because his wife wears protective clothing when she rides the motorcycle. "The jacket did its job," he said, according to the Associated Press.

The deer had to be shot because of it's injuries.
