Pig parts close up highway for hours

In Chicago, a busy part of the highway was closed for about seven hours when a truck tipped over, according to the Associated Press. The truck contained a mixture of pig ears, pig feet, and grease, and spilled all over the road.

Slippery conditions were created from the messy pig parts, and the northbound lanes of the Eden's Expressway had to be closed. They were reopened about seven hours later.

The accident happened near an ongoing ramp in Skokie, according to a spokeswoman for the Illinois Department of Transportation, Mike Claffey. The truck's load unexpectedly shifted, causing the truck to tip over onto its side and spill out the contents. No one was reported injured in the spill.

The driver of the truck, Hassan Ware, 39, is from the Chicago suburb of Bolingbrook. According to state police, he was cited for driving too fast for road conditions and for spilling his load on the highway.

Workers form the Transportation Department used sand to try and absorb the grease, said Claffey. A foam that is usually used in hazardous materials situations was also used to try and soak up the mess. Rock salt was then spread to make better traction on the highway.

"This is obviously something that's really hard to clean up," Claffey said, according to the Associated Press.

Jury makes man pay for stealing woman's affection

German Blinov was ordered by a Cook County jury to pay $4, 802 in damages after he was sued by another man for stealing the affections of that man's wife, according to the Associated Press.

Arthur Friedman, the man scorned, used a state law that is not well-known to bring legal action against Blinov. Its called the Alienation of Affection law, and is one of eight across the country. It allows spouses to seek monetary damages from the loss of love.

Natalie Friedman is the woman in the middle of it. She says that her husband asked her to have sex with other men and women, including Blinov, in an attempt to spice up their relationship. She then began to initiate feelings for Blinov, and thats when the husband filed the lawsuit against him.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported that Arthur Friedman told them, "This guy ruined my life - he back stabbed me. What he did was wrong. And I did what I had to do to get my point across."

Blinov admits that him and Natalie Friedman had a relationship, and that he knew she was married. He was, however, surprised to find out that he could be sued for it.

"German was not a pirate of her affections," attorney Enrico Mirabelli said, referring to Natalie Friedman. "Her affections were already adrift", according to the Associated Press.

As part of a high school rivalry, pig parts were dumped in our school parking lot a few years back. Let me tell ya, that was nasty! Interesting article!
