Weird Stories that Actually Made the News

This article will go over several recent, and maybe not so recent, weird and unusual stories that actually made the news. You may even have a chuckle or two!

This first story is quite unbelievable. It has to do with an outhouse and an airplane. Apparently upon take off, a small Cessna 182 airplane engine failed. It landed on top of a bunch of portable toilets. Landing on the toilets cushioned the fall. The pilot was able to walk away with not even a scratch. Source: BBC News.

We have all heard of "driving under the influence", but have you ever heard of "riding under the influence"? In Colorado a cowboy who was out joyriding on his horse was ticketed for being intoxicated while riding his horse through town. Guess he should have thought twice about horsin' around! Now this next news story is just outrageous. Not to mention a bit scary. When you go grocery shopping the most you think you will encounter will be an irate customer or perhaps a rude costumer. Something you never think you will come in contact with while shopping is a bull. That is exactly what happened at a Supermarket in Ireland. A bull somehow got loose and ended up inside a supermarket. He ran up and down the aisles. No doubt scaring everyone around! It is reported he even chased someone down an aisle! This is no bull! This next story is touching to me. Touching probably because I have a pet Chihuahua myself. In Michigan a small Chihuahua named Tinker Bell was blown away by a heavy gust of wind and was lost for two days. Tinker Bell was eventually found and reunited with her owner. Source: Yahoo News.

All I can say about this next bit of news is that who knew a bra could save your life! A woman in Detroit narrowly escaped being shot thanks to her underwire bra. Apparently there was a break in at her neighbor's home and bullets were fired. As she looked out her window a bullet entered her home. The wire in her underwire bra deflected the bullet and kept it from penetrating her skin. Source: Detriot News.

Sometimes you hear of stories and you think to yourself the odds of that happening has to be like a million to one. Some things are so far fetched it is hard to believe. This next story makes you think just that. In Colorado Springs, Colorado a pregnant young lady was running for her life from a big black bear. Upon running from that black bear she was inadvertently hit by a car. It is told that she only sustained minor injuries from the hit and is in good condition. Source:WCBStv.com

This last bit of odd news is quite funny to me. I imagine we can all think of a time or two we would have loved to have been able to do this! In Idaho a judge ordered a defendant's mouth be duct taped shut during a court hearing. The defendant apparently had many outbursts and was very disrupting to the court.
