Weird Things You Never Thought You'd See on Ebay

Animal Crackers

The large assortment of different animals in animal crackers gives a pretty good chance for error in their production. Many of these crackers make it to Ebay, and can sell for surprisingly high prices. One such example was a fusion of two animal crackers together so that they appeared to be engaging in sexual activity. Another was an elephant cracker that appeared to have a "fifth leg". Some of these go for more than $10 on Ebay. What the buyers do with them, I don't even want to know. Before you shove that next handful in your mouth, make sure you don't have a few rare "friendly" animals in the bunch.

Demolition

While the majority of Ebay auctions are for actual items, there are exceptions. One auction I came across appeared to be for an old, used bike. After looking closer, I realized that the seller had no intention of shipping the bike anywhere. The winning Ebay bidder would choose how the seller would destroy the old bike. The description was full of great ideas such as burning it, dropping it off a tall building, and running it over with a truck. I don't know how the bike was ever destroyed, but it is really interesting to see what people are willing to pay for.

Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Perhaps the most famous weird Ebay auction so far was the grilled cheese sandwich with the face of the Virgin Mary on it. It attracted views from 1.7 million people over the course of the week that it was listed, and fetched a closing price of $28,000. The sandwich even had a bite taken out of it, and was over ten years old. The sandwich was bought by an online casino who said they planned to go on tour with it, then sell it to raise money for charity.

A Human Soul

Although it is no longer allowed by Ebay rules, there were many instances where people would try to sell their souls. One auction included a story stating that the seller was playing video games with his friend when they decided to bet their souls on the next time. He won and reportedly put his friends soul inside a ping pong ball and sold it on Ebay. However, Ebay stopped this practice by stating that if a person believes that they have a soul, then it is part of their body, and human body parts are not allowed to be sold on Ebay.
