Do you dare dream big with graphic details of a new life?
No matter which stakeholder group or groups you occupy, the articles that describe the ASLAP Strategy include outstanding benefits for you. ASLAP means Achieving Successful Living After Prison.
Consider the stakeholder groups:
1. Criminals who are the only persons who can reduce crime statistics when they stop doing crime.
2. Crime response professionals, such as the police, members of the judicial system and correctional professionals
who must learn how to recognize the spark of a desire to change and how to nurture, rather than ignore it.
3. Citizens who pay the entire cost of crime: investigations, trials and incarceration, and who must demand a profitable return on their prodigious investments.
4. Careerists, including business owners and human resources professionals who must decide which recently released criminals to hire. You must learn to discern the difference between those who are changing and the con artists, who just want a job as a crime cover.
5. Change advocates, such as individuals who can influence public policies to make them more conducive to total tranformation.
6. Change activists, former criminals who are actively involved in altering the criminal personality by changing the way they think.
7. Change conquerors, individuals who have completed the arduous trek from crime to contribution, along the Change Continuum. These individuals inherit a responsibility to help others make that same journey.
The story is here in this series of featured articles, challenging you to act. It's not enough to just read these articles. You must act quickly and decisively if you really desire the change you claim you want to experience.
If you live in California, North Carolina or South Caroline, you must refer your state legislators and the correctional department leaders in your state to read these articles and act accordingly.
If you are a media professional, you must investigate these claims. Have I actually accomplished and achieved all that I claim? Do I really know how to teach and train others to achieve similar accomplishments? Can I teach and train mentors to work with thousands of criminals helping them to transform into law abiding and productive citizens? If I cannot, you have an obligation to expose this potential fraud. On the other hand, if you become convinced that this can work, you inherit a similar obligation to tell your audiences what you've learned.
Elected officials must become activists in this solution strategy, rather than impediments to it.
If you are a member of the FLOC (Families and Loved Ones of Criminals), you must insist that all the stakeholders give your loved one(s) the chance they need to transform from criminal to contributor.
Read these articles. Click the internal links and read what I have written on my blog--Let's Talk Freedom. Read carefully and completely. Think clearly and deeply about what you learn. Then act decisively to make this happen. Do not sit on the sidelines waiting for something better to come along.
Do not respond as one news media friend of mine who said: "I'd rather wait until I see if it works before I do a program on it. Afterall, it's just another proposal."
No! This is not just another proposal.
Never before has a person with a 40-year track record of changing and succeeding proposed a comprehensive strategy to reduce recidivism to 10 per cent or less.
Never before has a person challenged you to hold him accountable for the claims he makes.
Never before has anyone proposed a strategy with such farreaching implications and possibilities. For example, I propose to help fathers turn their transformed hearts to their children and to help children turn their hearts to their fathers with new found respect and admiration.
So bottom line! Read and act! I dare you!
