Welcome Back Whitney Houston

Whitney Houston is one of the best female artists of our times. She began singing in a Junior gospel choir at age 11 and in 1985 she released her debut album, titled Whitney Houston in which it became the best selling album by a female artist. Whitney's success continued with her second album titled Whitney, that was released in 1987 and the album debuted at number one on the Billboard Album Chart. In 1992 Whitney Houston married Bobby Brown and stared in The Body Guard her first feature film and she went on to win a Grammy Award for album of the year for The Body Guard soundtrack in 1994.

Whitney continued to have a successful singing and acting career and she also became a mother. In 2001 Whitney Houston renewed her contract with Arista Records for a $100 million and at this point Whitney seemed to be on top of the world. Soon after, there were rumors of drug use, but at first no one wanted to believe such a thing about Whitney Houston. As time went on the rumors proved to be true with Whitney not showing up for scheduled appearances. Everyone started to notice a change in her appearance and her voice, as more rumors surfaced Whitney seemed to have gotten further away from the spot light.

In 2006 Whitney stared in her husbands reality show, Being Bobby Brown. Although everyone was glad to see Whitney Houston once again, she just wasn't the same person that we all grew to love so dearly. As her fans watched, they all hoped and prayed that she would get herself together. Earlier this year Whitney performed at an event honoring her mentor Clive Davis and she looked great. Whitney Houston has a new album coming out in September 2009 and she will also appear on the Oprah Winfrey show on Monday September 14, 2009. This appearance will be her first interview in seven years. Welcome Back Whitney!
