Welcome in the New Day

Harold Dean Sink
The morning dew brings rise to little creatures in the yard.
Caterpillars creep out from under the leaves,
Frogs and toads alike are tucking themselves away,
And birds are singing all around of the catch of the day.

Cars are driving by as people head off to work.
Children run by as they head off to school.
Dogs and cats are either looking out the windows or playing in the yard.
Some folks are sitting on their porch or patio sipping that first cup of coffee.

If one sits still long enough they can see the smallest of critters.
Spiders are dangling from every flower, bush and tree.
Ladybugs are creeping along the ground to dry out.
Even the woodlouse comes out from under its hidden place.

A few minutes of relaxation to take in the day
Can be all one needs to get them up and going.
Finding focus on the day, the moment, the hour,
Will bring a sense of calmness to still one's heart.

All stress can be relieved with a day like this.
Enjoy the few moments you are not rushing around
To get things you feel must be done.
The day will soon be gone, so enjoy it.

Sounds like my day, except it was filled with fall leaves, salamanders and caterpillars :-)

You are so right! We all need to take time to relax and reflect. Another top-notch piece!
