We'll Be Alright

Brandon Elliott
I can't seem to breathe,
when you're not around.
I want to be closer.
It feels so newfound.
The way that you care,
if my blood has grown cold.
Please do not bend,
Please do not fold.
Be strong for me,
and show who you are.
I'll love you forever
even perfections scar.

Our path is not given,
we change and we fight.
But my promise to you is,
that we'll be alright.
It's not always fair,
how it never works out,
the way that we differ,
and the way that we shout.
Problems are temporary,
and it's not always bright.
When we live in the shadows,
of being polite.
I don't wish to hurt you.
I don't wish to bite.
My promise to you is,
that we'll be alright.

There are so many times in my life that all I really need is a shoulder on which to lean for a few moments and a trusted person to reassure me that things will be all right. Thanks for an enjoyable read.

Add a chorus, and this one would make a great song.
