LaKendra is pronounced lah-KEN-drah and has three origins, not to mention it is used by many African Americans. The many origins include Gaelic with the meaning, son of Henry. In Welsh it means chief hero. In English it means keen power. Yes, this is a female name and I guess if her Dad's name is Henry, you may consider this name for her.

    Hi we named our little girl Briallen. We have had a lot of comments both positive and negative. She has always been known as our little "primrose". Briallen is now almost 18 and loves the fact that she has an unusual name.
