Westboro "Baptist Church" to Protest at Camp Lejeune After the Murder of Maria Lauterbach

God Hates the U.S. Marines --- This is one of many slogans used by the Westboro "Baptist Church", and will be used at the Camp Lejeune protest, in reguards to the death of Maria Lauterbach. They also plan on making the point at this protest that "God Hates Fags and Fag enablers", which is another slogan they use. A silent protest against their protesting is also scheduled for all opposed.
Many know WBC by their numerous funeral protests, which lands them their 15 minutes of fame on news channels all over the world. But what we do not know about this church, or cult, is their reason. I searched the web in some attempt to try to understand the truly deranged minds of these people and here is what I found out:
1. The church is led by one man, Frederick Phelps, who is a disbarred lawyer in the state of Kansas. Obviously his delusional brain function has slowed at this point in his life (age 78). He has his own band of followers, most of which are directly related to him. His church has a confirmed 71 members, 60 are related either by blood, marriage, or both. This goes to say that he is not against incest or inbreeding, since he does not allow them to marry outside the church.

2. They believe that everyone in the world is headed for eternal damnation (except themselves) because of the rise of homosexuality and the acceptance of it. This is the reason they are against the military, stating that the military is full of "fags" and fighting for freedom to be fags.

3. They believe that every tragedy in the world is something that we should thank God for, because he is striking out of wrath. They have picket signs stating that we should thank God for 9/11, as well as every large tragic earthquake, hurricane, flood, and every tragedy that cost lives. They have many picket signs showing their hatred for everyone and making the point that God hates everyone ( just to name a few): America, Sweden, Canada, Ireland, Mexico, and "fags". They also make the point that they believe America is doomed.

4. Of Phelps' 13 children, four of them left the church and have been interviewed. The four children stated that Phelps had little or no religious beliefs to begin with, and two of the sons insist that the church is actually a carefully planned cult, allowing Phelps to be viewed as a demigod, holding complete control over the entire congregation. Phelps has a delusion that he is one of few righteous men left on earth and the rest are damned to Hell. 5. Their basic mission in these protests is to get people worked up and ruffle feathers. In a video posted by themselves on the internet, they were chased from a funeral that they were protesting, and had a brick thrown through their window. This made them extremely satisfied and pleased that they have caused so much anger.

For those of you who plan on showing your support of the troops and Maria Lauterbach's family, please do not bring violence. if you are easily provoked to violent outbursts, please do not come. After all, Jesus Christ said, "But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" Matthew 5:44. Also, do not give these people the benefit of making it on another national news channel. It will only fuel their insanity further.
