In a word, WOW! You must first understand however, this is my first venture into the SATA technology, but what an impressive change. Before buying this particular hard drive, after reading hundreds of reviews covering scores of different hard drives, and having been a long time Western Digital fan with over 15 years of experience with their hard drives, I was sold on the Western Digital Caviar Blue SATA 3.0 320 GB Hard Drive.

After receiving and installing my New Western Digital Caviar Blue Hard Drive, I was not disappointed at all. Putting a hard drive bench test to it, it is reading and writing faster than my PATA 133's by about ten times over. It is quiet, it runs cool, and it runs fast. In fact, I am so excited about this hard drive, I'm planning on getting another one for my computer, and one for my wife's computer as well.

The Western Digital Caviar Blue SATA 3.0 320 GB hard drive features an 8MB cache, 7200 RPM's, WhisperDrive technology, 8.9ms average seek time and a 10.9ms average write time. The best feature I notice as the user is the speed, quietness, and reliability. BTW, it isn't actually blue in color, it is the Caviar Blue series.

As a home business user that does a lot of video capture and digital art, my wife does a lot of intense graphics, and this hard drive keeps up with our demands in a cool and quiet manner.

The Western Digital Caviar Blue SATA 3.0 320 GB hard drive was only $49.99 with free shipping from NewEgg. It is the OEM version so initializing and partitioning the hard drive are a must, but that is an easy task to do from your Windows Computer Management. I partitioned mine with 40GB "C" drive and a second partition of about 260GB for all my data. This is a good trick to use so when windows needs to be reinstalled, all my data remains in tact with only the operating system and a few programs needing to be reinstalled.

Whether you need the space for movies or ISO files, or if you are using for home or a business, whether you are a professional or just a blogger looking for more hard drive space, this is a nice addition to any computer.

*You must be sure your computer is SATA 3.0G/s compatible
