Western Indiana Seeing Power Outages

Reports Coming in from Indiana on Twitter on the Latest Winter Storm

February, 1, 2011 - With the latest storm moving across most of the United States, Western Indiana is already seeing power outages. On Twitter's hashtag #inwx, people are reporting in about the power outages, road conditions, temperatures, and other weather related conditions in Indiana.

On user retweeted 1007MIX FM who has stated 12k customers in Vigo County are without power. Their information came from Duke Energy.

More information about the storm can be followed by other Indiana residents through Twitter's hashtag #indy. Rhythm Discovery, Top Level Gym, Percussive Arts, Vonnegut Library tweeted they will be closed today due the ice that has hit the area.

Several uses reported a half inch of ice so far with this storm sweeping across Western Indiana on #indy at Twitter.

One report from the Indystar tweet stated one officer was involved in a crash. Also, be aware that I-74 is closed southeast of #Shelbyville near Ind. 244 due to this officer involved crash.

Other Notable Closings in Indiana:

Indianapolis Public Works - "trash collection suspended and will run a day later for the rest of the week."

Conservation Day at the Indiana Statehouse is canceled.

Indiana House, Senate closed Tuesday. Wednesday - no word if they will be in session or not at this time.
