Western Sky's RV Park in Vado, New Mexico: Review

RV Park for a Quick One Night Stop

Kathy Anderson
Western Sky's RV Park in Vado, New Mexico is open year round. We rolled in on our trek to Texas from Arizona just for one night. We found the park to be an OK park but with some nice trees and friendly people. At least the other RVers were friendly. The man in the office seemed friendly enough and a real quiet guy. The park or grounds were very nicely maintained.

The showers and the bathrooms really didn't look so super good and we were glad we didn't need to use them. We were also glad we were only spending one night. One good thing about RVing and living in your RV is that you can make any park a good park by just staying in your RV or staying at your site and making it a good place to be for a night ourselves. We did have a nice lady come by selling homemade tamales. They looked so good but you had to buy all of them and being there's only two of us, we declined the offer. Can't remember how much they cost. I believe her and her family live in this park but not sure about that.

Here's the particulars about this park. We found them listed in the Enjoy America directory but could be in other directories, too. Drive-ups are welcome, the park was not full and it was February 2nd. Reservations are accepted, too. The Maximum RV length is 60 feet.

They have 71 pull-thru sites with water, electric and sewer. They do have a bathhouse and laundry, a clubhouse that's available for events or family reunion but it said nothing about on-going activities in the clubhouse.

There's large shade trees at every site......yes there are. Pets are welcome and they have a gift shop. They do have a fairly good TV channel selection with HBO and they offer wireless internet. Check to see if there's a fee as we didn't need it so I forgot to ask. The park used to be called Vado RV Park at one time.

The public rate is $30-32 + tax (check to make sure, prices are always changing)

Enjoy America rate for one night is $15-16 + tax and good for two nights.

50 and 30 amp is available and they do have sites for tent camping.

You'll find this park at www.westernskysrvpark.com but I wasn't able to pull up the website. They are located at 1620l Las Alturas Drive, Vado, NM 88072
