Day Out with Thomas - May 7th through 9th and May 14th through 16th at the Medina Railroad Museum, 530 West Ave. in Medina. The Celebration Tour 2010 features a 25-minute ride on a full-size Thomas the Tank Engine, stores, music, and more fun for kids. Wine Trail Blossoms - May 7th through 9th at participating wineries on the Niagara Wine Trail. Check out each winery for a wine tasting and a potted herb plant gift. Tickets are $30 per person or $50 per couple, in advance, through www.niagarawinetrail.org.

Spring Into Summer Festival - Friday and Saturday, May 14th and 15th at the Hamburg Fairgrounds AgriCenter. A new festival geared toward the 21-and-over crowd featuring wine and beer tastings, prizes and auctions, live music, exhibits, and much more. Shea's Fine Wine and Food Festival - Thursday, May 20th in Shea's Performing Arts Center's Grand Lobby, 658 Main St. in downtown Buffalo, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Enjoy food and wine samples from a number of area restaurants and wineries. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door; visit Shea's Box Office or call 716-847-1410.

Farmer's Market at the Williamsville Mill - starts Saturday, May 22nd and runs every Saturday through October 30th at the Williamsville Water Mill, E. Spring St. off Main St. from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Features fruits and vegetables, flowers and plants, baked goods, music, and more.

German Festival - Saturday, May 22nd at the Amherst Museum, 3755 Tonawanda Creek Rd. in Amherst, from 1 to 8 p.m. Vendors, food, entertainment, and more, with music from the German American Musicians Band (2 to 4 p.m.) and the Frankfurters (5 to 8 p.m.). Tickets are $6 (13 and older), $5 for Museum members, and children 12 and under are free. Call 716-689-1440 for more information.

Spring Carnival - Friday, May 28th through Monday, May 31st at the Southgate Plaza, Union Rd. and Seneca St. in West Seneca. Featuring Hammerl Amusements' rides, games, food, and more. Chicken BBQ to benefit the West Seneca Rotary on Sunday the 30th from noon to 4 p.m., fireworks Sunday at dusk.
