Being a better player, I prefer the look of a more traditional club head. Less offset, thin top line, mid-size head, and an overall clean appearance. While you get that with the Double-U irons, you get that and more with the Zt-C irons!
The Weszty Golf Zt-C irons are an enhance blade designed for the better player. At address they look like a traditional blade style irons, but that is where the similarities stop and the technology begins. A look a the back of the club head reveals a flat back design for which there is a reason. Unlike most forged blade irons, the cast Weszty Golf Zt-C irons feature their game improvement features with a slightly thicker top line and sole. The thicker top line allows for a lower center of gravity which will aid in getting the ball up in the air, and the slight cavity allows for weight to be distributed around the perimeter of the club for forgiveness, while allowing the better player total shot control over any shot they wish to hit.
From address, these irons look absolutely beautiful! Clean, minimal offset and a mirror finish gives the better player all the confidence in the world to hit great shots, shot after shot! I had more fun with these irons than I did with the Double-U's simply because I could hit any shot I could think of with these irons. The good looks are just a nice bonus! I matched them with my favorite shaft of mine, the FST 115, and they look and feel better than any blade design I have ever hit. I was very happy to see that I could hit a nice little fade with this iron, without the ball shooting up into the air with a very weak trajectory. Most other blade irons I have hit a fade with required me to take an extra club to be able to hit a cut shot to a tucked pin. Draws were equally easy to hit with a solid trajectory that did not "get away" from me by being too powerful of a ball flight.
If you are a better player looking to try a new club from a new club company, I would suggest you give Weszty Golf and their new ZT-C irons a serious look. You will not be disappointed.
