I thought Rose Shimmer was beautiful, it was the darkest shade the store had left, and I knew that it would look great against my caramel colored skin so I bought a jar of the Ultimate Minerals Loose Blush for the awesomely low price of $3.99.
The Wet n Wild Minerals Blush contains mica, jojoba seed oil, aloe extract, sunflower seed oil, and other ingredients. It comes in a medium sized jar that will last awhile. Once I opened the twist-off cap I saw that the jar has a few small holes in the shape of an asterisk that allows a tiny amount of the loose blush to pour out.
But there's also another thin plastic lid that's attached to the jar, it has plugs in the shape of the asterisk to fill up the holes so that the blush doesn't spill out everywhere when you open it.
Wet n Wild claims that their Ultimate Loose Blush is a "light, mineral based formula that provides a beautifully healthy flush to cheeks."
When I used the blush I was so happy with the Rose Shimmer color. Instead of it looking like a typical rose shade, the shimmer in the Ultimate Minerals makes the rose look like more of a warm coral color against my skin. There are pink, peach, and gold undertones in this blush.
Rose Shimmer looked amazing on my golden brown skin. It gave me a healthy looking glow and it made me look more tan. I even applied a small amount to my forehead and nose like a bronzer and it warmed up my skin even more and looked great.
The only problems I encountered with the Wet n Wild Ultimate Minerals was that I used too much at first and the shimmer in this accentuated every flaw and bump on my cheeks. Only a tiny amount comes out of the holes, so it's best to use that small amount, and then gradually build up two or three layers. Don't over-do it with this blush or the shimmer will be too obvious.
The other issue I had with the loose mineral blush is the smell. Other mineral makeups I tried were unscented, but this one has a puny smell that is unpleasant. It went away once I buffed it onto my skin, but it definitely made my blush brush stink.
In the End...
I love the look of this blush when it's applied correctly. The Rose Shimmer shade is gorgeous, it's sexy and perfect for summer. I would definitely try the Wet n Wild Ultimate Minerals Blush again, I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars only because of that gross smell.
