The History of Wharton Business School

The Wharton Business School started as "The Wharton School of Finance and Economy in 1881. A man by the name of Joseph Wharton who was a big industrialist and philanthropist founded the prestigious School of Business. Mr. Wharton had built an empire by running Bethlehem Steel Corporation as well as American Nickel Company. With his vision and available cash he founded the Wharton School of Business to help others prosper during this time in American history.

The Wharton School of Business was the first organizations to ever publish specific textbooks focused on business. Also, the school opened an entrepreneur center to allow like minded individual's a place to learn and share their ideas. As the Wharton School of Business expanded over the years, the school boasts some of the top alumni in the business world.
