Modern technology makes things so easy
It makes life almost bearable while you're away
I can see your face
I can hear your voice
I can talk with you for hours
but there are things things I need
things even technology cannot do
I need to feel you lying next to me
so that I can finally fall asleep
I need to kiss your lips
I need to feel your body pressed up against mine
I need you to come home
and hold me
to protect me from the evils of the world
Your voice and your face
and your words of kindess
go a long way to ease this longing I feel for you
But what I cannot receive through modern conveniences
