What I Am Doing to Increase My Page Views on Associated Content Articles

I am a new comer in the field of online content writing. After a lot of thought and procrastination I finally decided to give it a shot. I am a new mom and hardly have any time to do anything other than taking care of my baby and home. However, since my baby girl is growing and I have recovered I think it is about managing time. The reason I thought I should write is it gives a mode of venting out and sharing. It gives me a chance to look forward to do something more than just looking after a baby and house. That is not to say that makes me less happy. I hope you got the point.

I have published just two articles yet and have started to realize what it has to offer.

One thing is sure that they do pay and it is not a scam.Now, the next thing that I learnt was you should simply write and share your opinion to begin with. It gives you a boost that something is published quickly with not much of an effort on research. Later as you keep writing more and more you can write more on topics which require more research. Try to write using simple words and in an easy to understand way.

Right now my objective is to learn how to make income out of it in the most efficient way.

For that I have done the following:

1) Send emails to your family and friends: I began with sending these to my family and friends. Some of them are subscribers so they are notified as and when any of my articles are published. Though right now I am restricting to sending the relevant topics to them based on their interests. To create a better and lasting readership.

2) Joining discussion groups: I tried joining some discussion groups to promote my article. What I found was that every site has a moderator and you have to genuinely participate in the discussion and then post your link only if it is relevant otherwise it gets removed considering its scam. There are some sites which require premier membership; it means you have to pay to be a part of the discussion group in order to keep the quality check of their members. e.g. for Fertility related topics you can join www.ivillage.comor as simple as www.craigslist.orgjoin the relevant discussion group and share your views and also tell about your article on Associated content. You can also answer questions on yahoo etc and give your link if relevant.

What I am still doing :

3) Searching tips in AC Community: I am looking for tips given by various content producers on accelerating page views like Pam Gaulin. http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/14067/pam_gaulin.html

4) Trying to understand the SEO concept in order to optimize the position at which my article comes in various search engines like Google, Yahoo, Live Search.

5) Understand how RSS feed helps in promoting the content.

6) Plan to promote content at various networking sites : I am already a member in Orkut and have to explore others like Facebook,Myspace

7) Reading and writing more to improve quality: Though I think I write reasonably well, there is still no end to improve. I believe in continuous improvement for that I am reading content by veteran content producers and learning from their experiences.

Hopefully once I have understood the above and implemented the techniques I will achieve more page views following these. Thought it will be helpful to new content producers to begin with. I plan to update and share my outcome of this venture at a later date. Till then happy writing.
