What I Am Most Thankful for This Year

This Has Been a Difficult Year but We Still Have Alot to Be Thankful For

10 years ago, the United States was doing great, or so we thought. There were available jobs, there was no mortgage crisis, we were not in a war, the economy was o.k. and we were able to save a little extra cash. That's all changed now. Most of us are living check to check, a large percentage of us have lost our jobs with very little prospects of finding a new one, our country is at war, our children are dying, either by war or in our very own streets. With all of this chaos, what can we be thankful for. I am thankful for the things I use to take for granted.

I am thankful my children are alive. I never thought I would have to be thankful for this but soldiers are dying daily. These soldiers are adults but to parents, they are children. My heart goes out to these dying soldiers and their families.

I have a job. With all the cut backs and lay offs, I am thankful that I continue to be able to make a living. My job isn't the best but I can pay my bills. Their are many good families that can't anymore.

I am thankful that myself and my family are healthy. With all the newly diagnosed cancers, the H1N1 virus, the contaminated foods, etc. We should all be thankful that we're alive and healthy. My heart goes out to families who have lost a loved one to an illness.

I have a home. So many people have lost their homes due to the mortgage crisis and unemployment. If you have a roof over your head, you should be thankful.

My marriage. I am thankful for my husband and our marriage. I have someone who loves me and has my back. There are many single family homes out there. It's hard enough to make it with a husband, I can't imagine attempting to make it without one. I'm truly thankful for this.

I am most thankful that I'm alive. I still have a chance to see our country get back on it's feet. I can still wake up and see the beautiful sky. So, I guess I should say, I am thankful I am doing better than some.

You are right, Eve. We share similar gratitudes. We don't sweat the small stuff.
