Here are a few ideas American could spend the whopping $13 Obama is so graciously giving to all working American citizens.
1) Buy a pizza for your family. If you have a small family or plan to hit the discount $5 pizza store in town, it's possible you could feed your family pizza each week with the tax break money. Of course, those families with more than three of four members might as well save up for two weeks before heading to Pizza Hut.
2) Join a gym. President Obama may be able to take credit not only for putting money back into the pockets of Americans, but for making them healthier at the same time. For the $13 a week, most Americans could afford to join a gym.
3) Take a trip. If Americans saved up their extra $13 a week for two years they could possibly take a family vacation to a Mexican resort. Of course, this would totally defeat the purpose considering the money wouldn't be filtered back into the American economy.
4) Lease a car. With manufacturers like Kia offering cars for as little as $122 a month, many couples could put their $13 each together and lease a car. Well, not quite...but almost!
5) Buy seeds to plant. Many families are going without fresh foods due to the economic crisis. Fresh foods are often more expensive, however very nutritious. In fact, some experts believe economic hardships often lead to unhealthy eating habits for all Americans. But, with the extra $13 per week a family could at least afford to buy soil and seeds to plant their own backyard produce.
The fact is, while this small tax cut may allow families to enjoy a weekly pizza or a single person utilize the services of a hip gym, the money is not nearly enough to save a family from bankruptcy or home foreclosure. Not to sound ungrateful, but it's going to take more than $13 a week to save the American economic crisis.

Post a CommentI've heard that this $13/week is only deleted from the withholdings and that the tax tables at the end of the year don't change. If this is true, we should all go change our withholding numbers to give it back to The One. It will all soon be His anyway.
