Amino acids in tea are essential for the functions of the body. If you don't know about amino acids, you probably have heard about proteins.
Proteins are the building blocks of life. Proteins are essential because the cells need enzymes to survive and divide. And enzymes are made of proteins, which in turn are made of amino acids.
There are 20 amino acids: glycine, alanine, valine, leucine, isoleucine, methionine, phenylalanine, tryptophan, proline, serine, threonine, cystein, tyrosine, Asparagine, Glutamine, Aspartic acid, glutamic acid, lysine, Arginine, and Histidine. There are also 20 amino acids in tea.
What are 2 forms of proteins?
There are 2 forms of amino acids: those that can be produced in the body and those that must be provided to the body through diet.
Those that be produced naturally in the body if they are lacked from foods are called nonessential amino acids. These amino acids include Cystine, Glutamic acid, Arginine, Glycine, Tyrosine, and Glutamine.
Cystine and glycine are strong antioxidants that protect the cells from harmful toxics.
Glutamic acid help balance chemical in the brain
Arginine and Histidine play important roles in normal development in children
Tyrosine is very important in signaling mechanism in the body. It helps to produce chemical messengers in the brain such as dopamine and epinephrine.
What happened if you suffer from protein deficiency?
Without sufficient supply of several of these proteins can greatly affect normal physical and mental growth, especially in children. However, there also a few overdose side effects include headaches, vomiting, and increase in blood pressure.
Other essential proteins that must be provided through diet include leucine, valine, and isoleucine, lysine, phenylalanine...
Without sufficient amount of these amino acids, the functions of enzymes are significantly compromised. Amino-acids deficiency can result in loss of energy, muscle fatigue, depression, weak immune system, to name a few...
Leucine, isoleucine, and valine are important in chemical structure of protein.
Lysine is essential in the production of hormone and antibodies
Methionine is essential in production of protein. The cell only knows when to produce proteins when it recognizes methionine.
Different amino acids are abundant in different kinds of food sources. For example:
Meat, eggs, and fish contains high level of methionine
Meat, potatoes, cheese, and milk have high level of lysine
Peanuts, bananas, pumpkin are rich sources of Cystine, Arginine, Histidine, and Glutamine.
Tea can provide sufficient amount of amino acids for you.
It's great that you can provide your body with sufficient amount of amino-acids through diet. But with our busy lifestyles, sometimes it's difficult to consume the foods that we need.
Good news is the amount of amino acids in tea is sufficient for your body. If you don't have time to brew tea or taking tea supplements, there are amino acids supplements available in the market to help you with this.
There isn't any standard recommended daily allowance of amino acids. You should talk with your doctor before taking any supplement.
