If you are currently suffering from yeast infection, then adopting an Anti-candidiasis diet can do wonders for you. Like most living things, Candida Albicans (organism that causes of yeast infection) needs specific nutrients to survive and thrive. One of the favorite foods of Candida Albicans is sugar. Unfortunately, some people like to sugar too. If you are one of those sugar loving people, then you must know that you are more prone to developing yeast infection since the fungus Candida albicans is also thriving on the sugar you consume.

However, if you choose to adopt the Anti-candidiasis diet, you can easily cure yeast infection. More importantly, prevents it from reoccurring. Some people may suffer from recurring yeast infection (chronic yeast infection). Oftentimes they wonder why it keeps coming back. One possible answer is because their diet makes their body prone to developing yeast infection.

What is an Anti-candidiasis diet?

The idea behind Anti-candidiasis diet is to starve off the fungus Candida Albicans so that its population will be kept in normal levels. So this means that Anti-candidiasis diet avoids sugar, or any type of food that resembles like sugar when introduced into the body.

Eliminating the sugar in your diet can be done in two ways. One is to cut off sugar completely all at once, and the other is to gradually decrease the sugar consumptions over a period of time. Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages. If you cut off sugar completely all at once, then this is harder to achieve, yet you get cured from yeast infection faster. Gradually decreasing your sugar consumption may be easier, yet it may take longer periods of time to get completely cured from yeast infection.

If you are adopting an Anti-candidiasis diet, then you must also exclude yourself from sugar alcohols such as fructose and dextrose. Sucrose and corn syrups are also avoided.

Refined grains are also a big no-no if you are in an Anti-candidiasis diet. This also means that you need to avoid foods that contain white flour such as breads, cereals and pastas.

Anti-candidiasis diet does not allow fungus or yeast derivative products. This means that you should avoid anything that uses yeast in the processing such as alcohol, beer, spirits and wine. Mushrooms are also avoided.

Avoid dairy products if you are on the Anti-candidiasis diet. The reason behind this is that most dairies contain lactose, which is a certain type of sugar. However, there are certain exceptions such as cottage cheese and Greek yogurt.
