What is Atole?

Morning breakfast drinks in Mexico are important to get your morning started in Mexico. I have tried everything from Mexican coffee, to Mexican tea but there is one drink that goes well with sweet pastries in the morning. And, the name of this drink is called Atole (Mexican corn based drink) and this drink is the color of white and it's very good to taste. In this article I will discuss what Atole is, and what are the ingredients in making Atole.

Atole is a warm corn based drink that is drank in Mexico in the morning time to relax and get a good start on your morning. Atole does not have a taste, instead the taste is not salty nor sweet but the taste is just the taste of fresh corn. Atole is a warm thick drink that can be enjoyed for breakfast with sweet pastries, and Mexican Pan Dulce (Mexican Sweet Bread). This drink is mostly enjoyed in the country side of Mexico and is barely sold in the United States. If I ever had a restaurant it would be on my breakfast menu for Americans to enjoy a little taste of Mexico.

The ingredients in making Atole are very simple, but I would not recommend making this drink because it's very hard to make. The main ingredient is aged dried corn on the cob, then the corn is boiled to a certain point, then it's grind on a special stone with a stone roll. After the corn is grind it is cooked in a pot with water and other ingredients that I don't know what they are. I have never had the opportunity of getting all the ingredients in making Atole, but I intend on getting the ingredients one day. I usually love drinking Atole with chocolate bars of Hershey's, because I love the sweet taste.

If you readers out there ever get a chance to visit Mexico you should try Atole out in Mexico, because it's very hard to make. But, after you try this drink for the first time in your life you will want to drink this every week to get your day started. Every time I go to Mexico I usually like to try this drink out with different Mexican sweet desserts, because it's very good and the taste gets my morning started very good.
