What is the Barclays Golf Tournament?

The Barclays Golf Tournament began as the Westchester Classic in 1967, in Rye, New York. This prestigious golf tournament had a variety of sponsors until the first Barclays classic in 2005. Two years later, the Barclays golf tournament, in its current form, was established as the first playoff event in the FedEx Cup by Barclays PLC. Every year, the biggest names in golf, such as Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, play the Barclays Golf Tournament, which provides insurance that the FedEx cup competition will account for more and more golf fans each year. According to Robert E.
