What is the Best Diaper Cream Out of The Eight I've Used - Aveeno Baby Diaper Rash Cream

Chey Conner
I have tried out eight different diaper creams on my baby boy.

The Diaper Creams I Have Tried in Alphabetical Order

Aveeno Baby Diaper Rash Cream
Burt's Bees Baby Bee, Diaper Ointment with Vitamin A and Vitamin E
Common Sense Baby Cream
Desitin Zinc Oxide Diaper Rash Ointment Creamy
Earth's Best Organic Diaper Relief Ointment
Johnson's No More Diaper Rash
Safeway Brand Diaper Relief Ointment
Weleda Diaper-Care

One of the diaper creams that I used on him was the Aveeno Baby Diaper Rash Cream.

One thing that Aveeno has a reputation for is the fact that its products are designed with sensitive skin consumers in mind. Also, Aveeno Baby distributor is Johnson & Johnson, probably the most common household baby product manufacture name, or at least very close to Gerber. In general you want all of the products that you use on your baby to be sensitive so I thought that Aveeno and Johnson & Johnson would come together to make an extra sensitive product for babies, but I am not so sure that my thinking was correct.

The warning that can be found on the Aveeno Baby Diaper Rash Cream tube of diaper cream states the same warning as nearly all of the other warning labels on the other diaper creams that I have used on my baby. However, the ingredients are a very important thing to examine.

Aveeno Baby Diaper Rash Cream Ingredients

Zinc oxide 13%, avena sativa (oat) kernel extract, beeswax, benzoic acid, dimethicone, epilobium angustifolium flower/leaf/stem extract, glycerin, methylparaben, microcrystalline wax, mineral oil, oenothera biennis (evening primrose) seed extract, potassium hydroxide, propylparaben, sorbitan sesquioleate, synthetic beeswax, water

Right away I am disappointed to see that there is glycerin, mineral oil and synthetic beeswax. I am pleased that the Aveeno Baby Diaper Rash Cream ingredients don't include a fragrance but I still wasn't impressed, at least not with the ingredients.

So I tried it out, I thought that it was surprisingly watery however it did get the job done, eventually. If my baby got a diaper rash and I used this diaper cream, the diaper rash would slowly but surely be cleared up. Still I know that I have tried other diaper creams that I think have worked better, and some that I know have worked better and faster than Aveeno Baby Diaper Rash Cream.

My overall rating for Aveeno Baby Diaper Rash Cream out of 4 stars would be:

Rating * * 1/2

The big question on everyone's mind is would I buy it again. It would be my fifth choice, tied with two other diaper creams.

So it is established that Aveeno Baby Diaper Rash Cream isn't the best diaper cream that I have used, continue the series to find out which one isand which diaper creams are definite ones to avoid. Simply click on the author's name to see the other diaper cream reviews.
