The Bhokta Web site claims that you can earn $1 for an article of 200 words and as much as $4 for articles that have 800 words. The maximum earnings allowed weekly is set at $100. Bhokta monitors the uniqueness of each submitted article with CopyScape to ensure it is not plagiarized. Authors that attempt to copy articles from other sites will be banned from Bhokta permanently.
Although Bhokta sounds great, I am concerned by a few things. I performed a Google search on Bhokta and every review or article about this site seems to be written by Arun, who just happens to have the same name and picture as the owner of the Bhokta Web site. There were several posts to articles and blogs that read exactly the same, "There is a excellent opportunity at Bhokta where I write regularly. They are great, they pay immediately when your article is published." Now, I had to edit the spelling and punctuation of the repeated comment because it was very sloppy and reminded me of the writing of a second-grader. Every single post I came across had the same Spam comment, which leads me to believe that Arun just copies and pastes his comments everywhere he can. Perhaps Arun is unaware that this is called Spam. A wiser conclusion would be that someone who wastes his time spamming other's articles cannot create a legitimate Web site. It is no coincidence that Spam and Scam rhyme. It is because they go hand in hand!
The name "Arun" was listed as the user name for most of these favorable comments towards the Bhokta Web site, but in the comments Arun advertises himself as an author for Bhokta, not the owner, which is very deceptive.
Another red flag was how generic the Bhokta Web site was. Generic Web sites are usually not an issue with me, however, I could not find any "Terms & Conditions" or any other information regarding important details of Arun's Bhokta Web site.
Bhokta also claims to pay for every article submitted as long as it is not copied from somewhere else. So if I were to write a unique article, but had horrible spelling, then it would be published on Bhokta and I would be paid? Does that include if I just press random letters on my keyboard and publish unreadable content? I could not find any information on the Bhokta Web site that addressed these concerns.
Bhokta claims that it was created September 2009, however, the Bhokta Web site has a page called, "What Is Bhokta - Must Read" and that is dated Friday, November 23, 2001. I checked my desktop calendar, and November 23rd did fall on a Friday in that year, which makes me question why Arun is claiming a different date for the creation of this Web site.
If you do come across the Bhokta Web site, sign up at your own risk. Arun's claims are unbelievable. All writers thinking about signing up for Bhokta need to pay attention to the red flags.
