[ 1 Corinthians 13: 2-6 ]
Before we start to discuss this passage from the bible, I first want to define a few words from the quote above.
Fathom: to penetrate to the truth of; comprehend; understand.
Love: a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person.
Knowledge: acquaintance with facts, truths, or principles, as from study or investigation.
Boast: to speak with exaggeration and excessive pride
Envy: a feeling of discontent or covetousness with regard to another's advantages, success, possessions, etc.
Proud: having, proceeding from, or showing a high opinion of one's own dignity, importance, or superiority.
Truth: conformity with fact or reality.
Protect: to defend or guard from attack, invasion, loss, annoyance, insult.
Trust: to rely upon or place confidence in someone or something.
Persevere: to persist in anything undertaken; maintain a purpose in spite of difficulty, obstacles, or discouragement; continue steadfastly.
Kind: Of a friendly, generous, or warm-hearted nature.
Patient: Capable of calmly awaiting an outcome or result; not hasty or impulsive.
Dishonor: To bring shame or disgrace upon.
What is the bible implying about love in this passage, in the quote that I posted above? Well, I personally, and you may not agree with me, think that the bible is emphasizing how much love really means to us. It's importance so great to us that in the Bible, it states that without love we are nothing. Look at all the attributes that the Bible has placed on love. Not only the Bible, but Jesus Christ and God himself because it was through the Holy Spirit that the Bible was written.
Let me ask you a question, my faithful reader. If God; if his son Jesus Christ, look at love with such importance, why do we humans not cherish it? Why is it that we are so ungrateful? We are not pure, we sin. We make mistakes and is important, obviously, to make sure that love never parts from our heart. I don't know if you'll agree with me on this, but I have a feeling you will; I don't want a cold, lonely heart. I want to be able to love as Jesus loved me. I want to be able to love as God wants me to love.
I tell you this much my friend, if Jesus Christ said that we should love even our enemies, we should do just that. We should not hold anything against anyone, our hearts should be filled with love, just as God wants our hearts to be. This is what I think this passage in 1 Corinthians 13: 2-6 was about. If we have a partner, we should love that person with all of our heart. Be testimony to others of how good your relationship is; speak to the whole world the glory of God and the good things he has done with you and your partner. Love like you will never love again, God will reward you in heaven.
Love is the root of all happiness, it protects, trusts, its kind, its patient, its true, and above all things, it perseveres. You know why love is so great? It was given to us, shown to us, by Jesus Christ. It is shown to us everyday when God Blesses us with life. I hope I've explained myself in a manner that you can understand me. Before I go, however, I want to tell you something: Love your spouse, your children, your siblings, all of your family members. Love your friends, love your enemies. Don't just tell someone you love them, mean it and let it come from the heart. Above all, my friend, Love God. Love Jesus Christ. Without God we are nothing, we are nothing without love. Friend, God is love...

Thanks for the reminder to love our enemies. When we know God is love, it becomes easy for us to take a high road and forgive our enemies, for they know not what they are doing. God bless.
