The bill of sale is easy to make, you can type it up on the computer and then print it off, making 2 copies one for yourself and one for the new owner. It can also be hand written on a sheet of paper as long as it contains the information that you need you will be fine. Most of the times these don't even need notarized.
In most states you are not required to do a Bill of Sale but you should do one anyway. Many of the states will have a Bill of Sale form on their Department of Motor Vehicle website. Here is a listing of all states and links to the DMV for that state. This is the best place to get a Bill of Sale form for your state. They can be printed off and filled in. Again you will want to do 2 Bill of sales, one for you and one for the buyer.
If you want to make your own Bill of Sale Agreements, this is some information that you will want to put on it. On the agreement you want to put information such as: This vehicle (vehicle description with VIN number from the title) was sold by ___ (your name) on (today's date). And then if there is a warranty being transferred with the vehicle or if there isn't a warranty then you want to put the vehicle is sold - AS IS. Always make sure that the bill of sale stated that the vehicle is sold AS IS if there is no warranty. Put on the sales price, and the buyers and sellers names. Have both parties sign the bill of sale and date it. If there is anything else that you and the buyer agreed on write that in the agreement also.
It doesn't take long to make a bill of sale or an agreement but this should be done with every vehicle you buy or sale.
