Bing does have some real nice advantage, for example if you type in "local restaurants" and your "zip code", then Bing uses a rating system that shows restaurants in the order they have been rated. Bing also provides a map with numbers related to each location. While when doing the exact same search on Google, sites are divided the same way as if you searched for "shoe leather". Although Bing does still have the advertisements as the top 3 choices the same as Google, but it is harder to actually see what is an actual advertisement rather than rating. Bing does something that Google does not, which is let you sort the local restaurant by star rating, price, type of payments accepted, reservation needed or not, dress code, and of course free or valet parking. Which makes Microsoft's Bing much more than a normal search engine, in order to get that kind of restaurant information you would have to make a phone call, or an extensive search of their web page.
Bing does have some kinks to be worked out yet, for example it sometimes will bring back dead searches. When Google returned a search page, I was unable to find any of the dead searches. While Bing is definitely more business friendly than Google, Google is more user friendly because due to some of the tools Bing has to offer, are harder to find. One example of this is, I did not notice how to separate the restaurant by using the features, until after browsing the site for a while then I figured how to find and use the tools for more resourceful results. This could then be an overlooked feature by a new user, and keep Bing second to Google.
Google being the number 1 search engine at this time, now has a very serious competitor in Bing. Bing is going to have the best of Microsoft and the best of Yahoo, making it a strong competitor. Bing is eventually going to be the only search engine Yahoo uses and it has replaced Microsoft Live, so it should have a strong list of advertisers already. It has been suggested that Bing's new layout will draw more business from consumers, due to it layout of advertising. This information of Bing may help you in determining which way you would rather do your searches to come up with the information you are really looking for.
