For those of you who have endured a Bladder Infection, also known as Urinary Tract Infection or Cystitis, you are well aware of how quickly such an infection can come on. You will also be well aware of how painful these infections can be and how uncomfortable they can make life during that time. As we all know, it is not always possible to make a visit to the Doctors Office immediately, and yet you can be in extreme pain or discomfort until you are able to do so. However, there are a few things which you can do until you are able to make that visit to the Doctor to help relieve the pain and ward off the infection. Here I will shed some insight into my top five home remedies that you can use to help your next Bladder Infection.
- Drink lots of Natural Cranberry Juice. The less sugar the better as it means it is made up of more natural ingredients and less artificial ingredients. The more natural it is the stronger it will be in fighting the infection and flushing your system of that infection. Remember that the more Cranberry Juice you drink the better as it will help flush out your system as quickly as possible.
- Cranberry Supplements. You can find these in any drugstore and they work just as well as drinking Cranberry Juice. They often last longer as you are able to get numerous vitamins for a very reasonable price.
- Drink as many fluids as you possible can. It may hurt to go to the bathroom, but it is the only way to flush your system of the infection. Water and Juice are the best fluids and it best to stay away from any caffeinated or alcoholic drinks.
- Take a Hot Bath! This has been tried and tested by many women, and it works well to relieve any pain associated with the infection. Try and stay away from any bubble bath or scented soaps while you have the infection.
- Aspirin or Ibuprofen should help relieve the pain. These are known to help most people as it will work to reduce the swelling in your bladder, which should then reduce some of the pain you are experiencing.
Please Remember that you should not consider these tips as cures because it is very important to make that visit to the Doctors Office to have a professional diagnosis. This is especially important it you can experience any of the following symptoms:
- Blood in the urine
- Pain in the lower back or flank
- Fever
- Nausea or vomiting
If caught immediately most Bladder Infections will clear up within a couple of days, so if you do suspect you have one make an appointment to see your Doctor as soon as possible!
