Some fun items to help you pass the time. You may overlook these things whenever you think about what to bring to the hospital. However, you should know that you will want things like magazines, music and word puzzles. These things can be fun, mindless distractions to help you pass the time while you are waiting for having a baby.
Nursing bras. If you plan to nurse your baby, then this is the type of bra you will need to wear when having a baby. Make sure that it is comfortable and doesn't have an underwire . You may even want to wear it while giving birth so you are prepared to nurse right away.
A breast pump. If you are going to be breast-feeding your baby, you will need a breast pump. This will allow you to have plenty of opportunities to practice using it while having the support and help of your nursing staff readily available to you. So, it is definitely important to bring it along when you are having a baby.
Comfortable clothes to wear home. You will not be able to wear anything but your maternity clothes for a few days after delivering your baby. So, make sure to bring some comfortable maternity clothing to wear home. If you have a c-section you'll want these clothes not to put any pressure on your stomach. This is why you should opt for a comfortable cotton elastic waistband that fits under your belly or will fold down beneath your belly.
An outfit for your baby to wear home. Every baby will need something to wear home. It should be a comfortable, cozy outfit. Keep the weather in mind when packing this. For this reason, you may even want to pack a few different outfits so that you will be prepared for all weather conditions.
A properly installed infant car seat. Without this you won't be able to take your baby home with you so it should definitely make your list of things whenever it comes to what to bring to the hospital. Therefore, you should have it professionally installed a few weeks before going to the hospital. Your local fire station will do this for you.
