Thoughtful Packing Can Make Your Night More Enjoyable

If you're planning a trip to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at Disney World this year, there are few things you can bring to make the night more enjoyable:

Tickets or Will Call Information

It is always worth double checking to be sure you have these before leaving for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. It could save you a lot of trouble and frustration at the gate.

An Empty Backpack

One of the best parts of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party are the trick-or-treating trails. Young or old, you'll be sure to leave with a bag full of treats, but what to do with those treats while you're riding rides or waiting in line? As the candy piles in, you may find yourself sick of holding that heavier and heavier trick-or-treat bag, or just plain sick from, ahem, lightening the candy load. A backpack can keep your candy secure on space mountain and save you from the whining of little devils in your group. You can bring large zip top freezer bags to keep the contents separate if carrying multiple trick-or-treat bags, or just tie the handles in a loose knot before you throw them in.

Name Tags and a Permanent Marker

Not for your shirt, names tags can stop sugar fueled arguments over whose bag is whose before they start. Write the child or adult's, we can get pretty candy possessive too, name on the tag or bag as soon as you receive them.

Glow Stick Jewelry

Glow sticks have become a Halloween tradition to increase visibility amongst trick-or-treaters, and because they're fun. While you can buy such things at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, I recommend saving a little money by bringing your own. Just be sure not to take them out of their packages or activate them prematurely.

A Costume

Disney characters aren't the only ones who get into the spirit at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party; guests are invited to join in with a Halloween costume of their own. While you may not want to wear a full costume, try dressing a little spookier or wear a Halloween t-shirt.

Comfortable Shoes

A trip to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, or any trip to Disney World, entails a lot of walking, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes and socks. Try to work them into your costume if you can; bring a change of shoes if you can't.

A Camera

The decorations, events, and special characters at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party are not to be missed by you or your camera. Practice your night photography skills before arriving or take advantage of photo opportunities before the sun goes down. You may want to give a disposable camera to everyone in your group for a greater variety of pictures, but don't get so caught up in documenting the fun at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party that you miss out on having it.

What not to bring to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party:

Trick-or-Treating Pails or Bags

While you can bring your own if you wish, trick-or-treat bags are provided to all park guests as they enter the park.

Extra Sun block

You'll still need sun block for a few hours of daylight, but most of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party takes place at night. As long as you apply sun block before you leave for the party, you should be fine the rest of the night.
