The airport is also the start of the annual "Parade of Planes" that takes place the first weekend in October. The planes are towed behind lawn tractors and finish the parade for the festival in town. This is the only known parade of planes in the country.

Gastinuea Field is the home of the New Carlisle Knights. This is a team of men that are 30 plus and play in the Roy Hobbs league. This league consists of teams in the Dayton and Cincinnati areas. Games take place from May to September, mostly on Sunday afternoons. The field is an old time field with ads on the fences. There is seating for about 200 people to watch the games. Gastinuea Field is also known for flooding wheneve there is a lot of rain.
