- Get a good nights sleep: it has been proven that people who have less than eight hours sleep every night will eat more. If you're diabetic it is essential that you remain slim. Getting sufficient sleep will also help to reduce your stress levels.

- Never skip meals: It is very unhealthy to eat one or two very large meals every day. Try to eat a variety of small meals instead this will help to keep your blood sugar steady throughout the day.

-stay away from case cookies and other treats. There is not actually any forbidden food for diabetics, although these foods can increase cholesterol. If you cannot remove them from your diet, try not to eat them on their own. It is better to eat them immediately after mealtimes.

- try to avoid saturated fats such as butter and cheese.

- try to monitor your total lack of carbohydrates, this will help to keep your blood sugar levels in check.

- Only drink alcohol occasionally.
