What Channel is Game Six of the NLCS on Tonight for Giants Fans in the San Francisco Area?
The National League Championship Series Drama Continues to Build
The Bay Area has caught an undeniable case of baseball fever as the Giants lead the Philadelphia Phillies, three games to two in the best of seven National league Championship series.
With the Texas Rangers upsetting the New York Yankees in the American League and advancing to the first World Series in the franchise's history, the spotlight now turns to the NLCS Game 6.
Unlike the National Football League playoffs, which feature a series of 'one and done' games, the Major League Baseball postseason is marked by one round that is best of five, followed by the League Championship Series, which is a best of seven, and then the World Series, which is a best of seven as well.
As a result, interest and drama in the baseball playoffs tends to take a while to build. Some years, when the series is decided in four or five games, the 'payoff' for the casual fan never really comes. But the way in which the NLCS is shaping up this year, it appears that there will be drama for the hardcore and casual baseball fan alike.
After a slow start, the television ratings for both the National League Championship Series, as well as the recently concluded American League Championship series, have rallied dramatically and promise to carry the night for the channels carrying the game.
Tonight, the series shifts back to Philadelphia, where the Giants and Phillies split the first two games of the series.
The Giants then took two out of three in San Francisco, pushing the series to a Game Six, with either one or two games left. The Phillies, who were heavily favored at the outset, need to win both games to advance to the World Series to play the Rangers. The Giants, however, need to take only one of the next two games.
Jonathan Sanchez, who pitched well against the Phillies in a losing effort in Game Two, will face Game Two winner Roy Oswalt.
As the Bay Area settles in to watch Game Six of the National League Championship series, the question on many people's mind is, "What channel is the Giants and Phillies game on?"
The answer is that the game will be shown, starting at 4:57 Pacific Daylight Time, and 7:57 PM Eastern Daylight time on Fox Channel 2, KTVU in San Francisco.

Post a CommentFunny, I thought of you tonight because my husband wanted to record the game and the TV Guide in our Dish system was showing comedy re-runs on Fox. Guess they didn't figure on the series going on so long :)
