What Channel is the New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings Game on in New Orleans Tonight?

Guide to the when and Where for the Saints Game Tonight in New Orleans

As the number one spectator sport in the country, the National Football League returns tonight with the Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints taking on Brett Favre and the Minneapolis Vikings; many fans in the New Orleans area are wondering, what time and what television channel is the New Orleans Saints game on tonight in the Big Easy?

For the second year in a row, the Vikings are led by the 'unretired' quarterback Brett Favre. The soon to be 41 year old, Favre is entering his twentieth NFL season. While Favre may have fallen from his former 'golden boy' status in much of the country, he is a future Hall of Fame lock and one of the most compelling figures in the NFL today.

But for those in New Orleans, the Saints are a bigger attraction than they have ever been after defeating the Indianapolis Colts and winning the Super Bowl earlier this year; their first Super Bowl win ever.

As most all cities do these days, the NFL garners fantastic television ratings in New Orleans; particularly when the Saints play.

Unlike most NFL cities, New Orleans does not have a Major League baseball team. As a result, the Saints have the undivided attention of the city during September and October.

The game tonight featuring the Saints and the Vikings is perfect for getting people, including casual fans, to tune in. It is the first meaningful NFL game since February, after all, it is being played on a Thursday night (one of the very best nights for television ratings) and it features a matchup between Saints' quarterback Drew Brees and Brett Favre; two of the best and best known quarterbacks in the NFL.

Even though the NFL is extremely television friendly, there are more networks covering it and more possible time slots for the games than ever before. The NFL now plays often on Thursday nights, Saturday and Sunday nights; and five television networks cover games. As a result, there are undoubtedly many in the New Orleans area wondering what channel the Saints and Vikings game is on tonight; and what time the game starts.

The kickoff tonight for the National Football season, with the game between the New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings, will be broadcast live in the New Orleans area at 7:30PM on the local NBC channel, WDSU, Channel 6.
