What is in the McDonald's Happy Meal that would cause it to be banned? Are the ingredients, or the desire for toys in a Happy Meal, endangering children of the world?

One published report states the chemicals in the McDonald's Chicken McNuggets that are in Happy Meals could kill a person if enough is eaten. If this is true, consumers may want to learn why McDonald's can sell Chicken McNuggets in a Happy Meal. Better yet, why are these chemicals and others allowed in any food purchased?

Dimethylpolysiloxane, which is stated to be an anti-foaming agent that is made of silicone, is an ingredient in chicken nuggets sold in McDonald's Happy Meals. Another chemical reported to be in McDonald's chicken McNuggets as a preservative is tertiary butylhydroquinone, usually indicated as TBHQ.

Wikipedia.org provides what is supposed to be a complete ingredients list is the Chicken McNuggets sold at McDonald's. A link is provided before that will lead to this information.McDonald's Restaurants have become an easy target for those looking to place the blame for obesity somewhere, anywhere, other than on the humans consuming what they do. Is everyone reading labels to be sure their food does not contain aspartame, which has been reported to be one cause of obesity? Consumers at present are also not aware of the amount of sugar that may be added to restaurant meals.

It is hard for some to believe that adults have become so uninformed that they do not realize what they are eating when a Happy Meal is chosen. Yes, adults eat Happy Meals almost as much as the children do. Children can't make informed choices at a young age, but adults can make decisions for them.

McDonald's Happy Meals that contain Chicken McNuggets are certainly not the only products Americans consume that are filled with chemicals. Chemicals are used to preserve many foods that would otherwise not have a long shelf life.

Perhaps adults can choose to eat less of the chemicals that cause health issues by learning what is in a Happy Meal and other menu items at restaurants. Also, reading the packages in grocery stores is key to keeping chemicals and unwanted sugars and salts out of the kitchen.
