What Christians Are Saying that We Would Rather Hear from Someone Else

Christopher

I love Christian art. I love Christian films, TV shows, books, music, anything Christian I cannot get enough of it. That is easy for a Christian to say, is what you are thinking. But what I realized, is that the more I got into Christian art, the more I found that conscious message that I always wanted to preach. The more sermons I listened to, the more I realized that this is not just about God, and Christ, but about the right thing to do.

I love Soul Surfer. At first I thought it was going to be corny, but as I got into it I loved the messages that were delivered through that film. I love Christian Rap; you do not have to guess at what they are saying because it is right there in plain sight. If you can follow along with hip-hop, and you are not lost in the speed of which it is delivered, the metaphors, or the riddles that are used by artists to differentiate themselves from each other and you love real hip-hop, you will probably like Christian Rap, because it is about as close to what we like to call "real hip-hop" as most of us are going to get.

Pundits love to get on top of the ivory tower and criticize Christian artists but they never listen to the messages that are being delivered because they are so diabolically, philosophically opposed to the rhetoric simply because it is a Christian that is delivering the message. If you listen long enough, you might find something that will stick with you throughout the day. All I hear about is homophobia, and rape, and violence, and sadism and demon worship and all of these other diversions that the media likes to harp on to talk about how the world is changing. What is it changing for, what direction is it moving in. To be completely honest with you, I have listened to homosexuals talk about the issues that society struggles with and they have a lot of great things to say. If you call yourself a Christian and think that you are going to minister to someone you need to hear them out because it is not about them being "bad people", it is about the demons that they struggle with, some of which, are not that much different from the demons that the rest of us struggle with.

So you do not have to sell me onto homosexuality because I was never homophobic, I never had any issues, I never had an agenda. You may have to sell the rest of the world onto it, because the world is full of hate, but a true Christian, listens, instead of hearing himself talk all of the time. The way that I see it, everyone has an agenda, the world has an agenda against institutionalized religion, those who are truly serving God have an agenda to differentiate themselves from religious people with a Pharisee spirit, those that do not believe in God have an agenda against those that do, those that do not believe that there is a God, and so on and so forth. People are going to do what their morals and ethics, drive them to do. If they do not something is wrong with them, because if you are not going to stand for something, you are going to fall for everything.

But hear us out. Try it on for yourself. If you do not like it, return it, go back to what you were doing. People talk about Tyler Perry; a huge part of the criticism is not about the fact that he is Black, it is about the fact that he has the audacity to try to tell people about Christ when Black people are supposed to exhibit this buffoonery and coonery in a moral and ethical vacuum. There is not supposed to be any point about it, no truth in it. Spiritually, we were supposed to have died a few generations ago, so to see us with something to say, and making more money than everyone else in the game, is a real problem.

Christians are going to fall, but then again, everyone else falls. Everyone else has their sin, yet we still listen to other people and they are still redeemed, because they are going through the same things that we all go through. Christians, are never redeemed, because they were talking about something that, to most, is obviously too good to be true. But if I were to get up on my soapbox talking about the New Age, and you are God, and you do not need to go through the Father to get into heaven, you would not care what I did behind the scenes in the dark or how I lived my life. If I were to talk about the New World Order you would be salivating, hanging onto every word, thirsty, hungry for more, because that is what you want to hear. Yet if a Christian talks about the evil of the New World Order you cannot hear a tree fall in the middle of the forest; it may as well have never happened. What happened in America that we cannot differentiate between controversial and politically incorrect methods, and the truth that is hidden in plain sight for those few that were willing to read in between the lines? Why is it that everyone hates each other, and no one would implement the solutions that the answers suggest, because no one can get along with each long enough, and no one trusts each other enough to go forward. We are not supposed to trust other human beings in the first place, our trust is supposed to be in the truth that we know for ourselves, and we are supposed to recognize that truth when it presents itself, regardless of who it comes from or what our personal issues with that person might be. Everyone has their blinders on. No one would recognize their God if he were right in front of them. Who are you talking to me; do you see anyone else in the room?

Sterling commentary my friend. I believe that we must be twice as quick to listen, as Christians, and twice as slow to speak (why else 2 ears & 1 mouth?). For me, it is not being religious but having a relationship with family, co-workers, friends, and anyone I see. I hate churchianity but I love Christ and Christ loved people, unconditionally, regardless of their sin. I can not cast the first stone unless it would be aimed at me! :-)
