What to Do with the Comforter from Your Baby's Crib Bedding

You may be wondering what to do with the comforter from baby's crib bedding if you recently bought an ensemble. You might think that the comforter is useless because you can't use it on your infant, the good news, is that there are many creative ways you can use it.

Hang it Up

Most comforters are beautiful depictions of the décor you have chosen for the room. They are usually not very large since it's for a crib. You can easily hang the comforter on the wall as a wall decoration. It will be a beautiful accent to your chosen baby room décor.

Lay it Down

Infants and babies need a soft place to lie down on the floor so why not use that comforter as a cushion. Since it's so lightweight and small, you can simply throw it on the floor as an instant mat. The other great thing about it is that your baby will already recognize the design and it will soothe him or her.

Make Pillows

If you don't want to hang it up or lay it down, you may still wonder what to do with the comforter from baby's crib bedding. You could always turn it into something else that you would rather have such as pillows. You could probably make two nice toss pillows from the size of the comforter. Be careful with this one, some comforters may be too thick to make pillows from it.

Make a Quilt

If you needed an idea on what kind of quilt to make, here it is. You can use the comforter as the middle of the quilt and then attach pieces around it. This way, you have a nice starting point and you have the freedom of making it as large as you would like.

Oversized Blankie

Many children carry around a blankie for security. Your child may want to use the comforter as an oversized one. You probably wouldn't want to encourage him or her to take it with them out of the house because even though it is not huge, it isn't something that you would want him or her carrying throughout the grocery store. Instead, you can use it as a sick blankie for when he or she is feeling under the weather and needs something cozy to snuggle up to.

Keepsake

Many people don't keep baby crib bedding but the comforter is something that is small enough that you can stick in a bag and it won't take much room. Someday, you can bring it out and remember all the times you rocked your little baby to sleep in that decorated nursery. Your child will probably enjoy having it as well.
