What Custom Lights Are Legal on Your Car

If you like customizing your car, you should know a thing or two about what is legal, and what is not. For example I used to have green lights on my wheels. The lights were simple air valve covers that flashed green when they sensed motion. Unfortunately my car was slightly vandalized, so I contacted the local authorities to report it. Not all lights are illegal. Amber colored lights are usually fine. They are allowed on the sides of your vehicle. Red lights are not allowed on the side of your car. But do not worry about red lights on the back. So the third brake light you installed is just fine. As long as it was installed facing backwards. If you installed it facing forward or to the side it would be illegal. White lights are allowed in the front of cars, most likely because of the headlights and the fact that the really old classic cars used to have clear turn signals.

I would suggest that if you want to customize your car that you do not use lights. There are plenty of other things you can do that do not have a risk of being illegal. There are a lot of rumors and myths about how the lights are not illegal. That is what encouraged me to purchase the light up air valves covers.
