One of these great programs is called the Denver broncos Boys and Girls Club. It is a Broncos funded youth center and they have put in about 1.2 million dollars into it. When it was founded back in 2003, over 1,400 people became members and there was about 200 kids that were there every night.
The Broncos even make appearances and are there to be a positive role model for the kids. It is more then playing and having fun. The program helps kids with literacy, leadership skills, health, safety and recreation. There is an accelerated reading program that was incorporated into the program as well. Even more great news as the new Darrent Williams Memorial Teen Center has made a grand opening as of last spring.
The Broncos are also proud sponsors of the youth football in the Denver area. They have even put together a Youth Football Task Force to help with youth football throughout Colorado. This will aid in bringing forth youth football fields, coach training and participation. There is a Broncos Bowl at Mile High in August every year as well. The Broncos give about $50,000 a year to help in the building of new and maintanence of football fields in Colorado.
Gatorade and the Denver Broncos have collaborated to provide a safe and free Junior Training Camp since 1999. This is where the talk and train youth who are interested in becoming football players. It runs between May and October. The camp is exclusive to youth from ages 6 to 12. If you are interested, your school must contact the Denver Broncos at (720) 235-3100.
The Denver Broncos obviously love their community and the children in it. What better way to give to your community then to the youth? It looks like they are doing what they can and for that, the Broncos definitely have what it takes. There are other things that the Broncos do and we don't want those things to be overlooked, so make sure that you go to their website and see what is going on. DenverBroncos.com
