What is Dia De Los Santos Reyes?

Pure Writing
In the United States small children look forward to Santa Claus, and they are very excited for this day. But, in Mexico small children look forward to Dia de Los Santos Reyes, which is kind of similar to Santa Claus day but it's a different in a way. Los Santos Reyes looks very different compared to Santa Claus. In this article I will discuss what Dia de Los Santos Reyes is, and how this day is celebrated.

Dia de Los Santos Reyes is a special day for children throughout Mexico, and the tradition continues to this very day in different parts of Mexico. This tradition is celebrated on the eighth of January every year, and this day is in children's dreams until that very day. Dia de Los Santos Reyes is a day when the parents hide presents to give their children for being good the previous year. If the children are bad their presents value will suffer, because the parents will not spend as much on their children.

Dia de Los Santos Reyes is celebrated very differently compared to Santa Claus day, because the presents are not placed under a pine tree. Instead the presents are placed in the children's daily wearing shoes in gift wrapping paper. Then the children wake up in the morning of January eighth every year, and they find out what they got for being good the whole year. The legend is a few saints dressed in robes of different colors deliver the gifts to children who are good for the whole year. And, children all over Mexico believe that their parents are not responsible for the gifts. As I was growing up I always thought that Los Santos Reyes were real, but my feeling were broke thanks to the truth told by my Uncle D, "thanks Uncle D."

Dia de Los Santos Reyes is a special day for parents in Mexico, because especially with hard times right now in Mexico the parents can be thankful they could provide gifts for their children. I hope you have enjoyed this nice research I have done on Dia de Los Santos Reyes, but more than half of this research came from my personal experience. I would recommend you readers out there to celebrate this holiday with your children just to bring Mexican Culture to life in the United States, so your children can find out about Mexican Culture.
