What Does Crema and Pastel Mean?

The first word is Crema or crèam and the second word is Pastel which is cake. In this article I will explain what these words mean, and I will explain the different ways these words can be used.

To start off Crema basically means crèam which is used to add to cakes or treats. And, in Mexico Crema is used to spread on tostadas and other foods. But, Crema also means face cream which is used for acne or face restorer. These are a couple of ways Crema can be used so don't get this word confused when you go to Mexico. Also Crema is used in ice cream goods for flavoring and the finished product.

The second word is Pastel which means cake, and only cake. This word is used a lot in bakeries all throughout Mexico, and they refer to cakes when this word is used in these premises. Places where they make Pasteles in Mexico are also referred to as Pastelerias, and this word is very common in Mexican towns. So when you are in Mexico or the United States and you step into a Mexican bakery make sure to order some Pastele to go, and tell them to put some Crema on the Pastel.
