What Does Your Facebook Account Say About You?

Does Facebook Reveal a Mental Imbalance in You?

Vincent E Heck Jr
How does your Facebook account portray you? Does your photo say 'I'm so beautiful'? Do your status updates proclaim your greatness? Do you find yourself expressing things you would never say to a persons face?

What does this say about you? Researchers at the University of Georgia administered a personality questionnaire to 130 Facebook users, analyzed the content of their pages and asked untrained observers to view and rate the pages. Results indicated a correlation between the number of Facebook contacts and wall posts and narcissism.

It's true what they say, you can learn a lot from the actions of another human, and really, the things they say and do. So if you look at their pictures, what they do, where they have been, who they hang out with and what they say, you can put together a personality portfolio on the individual.

Research shows, if someone posts over the top or harsh posts about specific life events, more times then none, they wouldn't confront the event face to face. Facebook is their 'behind the curtian' outlet.

Psychologists suggest if you are the type who fit this description, you could be in danger for ruining your real life relationships.

Some people need attention, some may need validation, others may have social disorders. The things they post will reveal, at least, a personality flaw.

Among other risks unhealthy facebook usage can cause, the nhs.uk reports, facebook may lead to cancer. Some people become so addicted to their reinvented facebook 'strength' or 'outlet' that they become a higher risk to cancer, due to lack of 'face to face interaction'.

I'm not suggesting facebook is the problem here, I'm merely suggesting that, like anything, Facebook can reveal a bit of you. The old saying goes, "you can't outrun yourself." Your personality will follow you where ever you go.

So just like you have to watch what you say and do in real life, you have to do so on the internet also. Take time to evaluate yourself and show more restraint. The internet is a dangerous thing to mess with when it comes to your personal life.

All you may be accomplishing in your 'Facebook voice' is revealing which mental imbalance you may struggle with.

Stay in touch with the real world. Facebook is no substitute for reality.

See..that's exactly why people don't need to be fooling with no Facebook anyway. It's a social network and it's dangerous.
