What Does the New Father Pass Out Instead of the Traditional Cigar

When the Baby Arrives, What Does the New Dad Pass Out

Malina Debrie
Instead of cigars, what does today's proud father pass out when the announcement of his new arrival is made? Years ago when a new baby arrived, the proud father was ready with a box of cigars. With smoking issues, cancer and second hand smoke causing death in record numbers, people hesitate to hand out something like the traditional cigar when the new baby arrives. Today, instead of cigars, fathers either don't have any idea of what to pass out or they are coming up with unique items to hand out. No longer is the cigar politically correct and it has never been a healthy gift.

Peppermint Candies With the New Baby's Name Printed on The Wrapper

When the parents know in advance the sex of their baby, they can have a bulk order of peppermint candies ready with the new arrivals name imprinted on the wrapper. And with the price of these special order candies coming no where near the exorbitant prices of custom cigars, the savings can mean your little one can have an early start on a college fund. Companies are just waiting for these proud daddy's to place a order for peppermints or other delicious hard candies. Companies such as Mints USA await your call.

Candy Cigars

They come in all flavors of chocolate from white chocolate to deep dark chocolate. And even though they hate to admit it, men love chocolate. Sometimes even more so than females. Have a large box of specialty chocolates ready to hand out in the waiting room when waiting for that bundle of joy to arrive. The announcement will be even more satisfying when the group of anxious fathers can enjoy the sweet satisfaction of a savoring taste of chocolate. The box and bites can be engraved with the baby name or if you know the sex, have the chocolates individually wrapped in either blue or pink wrappers. Or, if the sex was to be known only at the time of arrival, have the chocolates wrapped in a neutral color like yellow or green. Whatever you choice, order your special "It's a Boy" or "It's a Girl" candy cigars from bulk suppliers such as Groovy Candies.

"It's A Boy" Or "It's A Girl" Suckers

Nothing calms the nerves like sucking on a big lollipop. So when you are waiting anxiously anticipating the newest arrival, give out suckers. All the impatient dads will feel comforted and maybe even for a short period of time, forget about the pain and suffering their spouse is going through. In additon, don't believe what you see on the movies. Most fathers would rather eat dirt than stay in the delivery room while their newest edition is preparing to enter into the world. To place an order or for information on these little investments in friendship, contact Groovy Candies.

Baby Bag Favors

Either blue for a boy or pink for a girl. Or, if the the sex is to be a surprise, maybe yellow or green. Either way, the proud dad can hand out a bag of specially prepared Hershey kisses to anyone in sight when he is announced as the proud new father of! Everyone loves a Hershey kiss and a kiss is what everyone deserves when a new baby arrives. For more gift ideas like the Baby Bag Favor and others, check out Carson Wrapped Hershey's.

The arrival of a new baby is a special treat for everyone in sight. Make it an announcement that everyone can enjoy.

I and my children have followed the tradition of passing out Bubble Gum cigars....love them. And this is good to see that tobacco's tradition has passed on to something much better. Sorry I have not commented for a while....as you know, I am in seminary for a MA and working and pastoring a small church (while riding a bike, chewing gum). Thank you for YOUR comments my friend.
